XM does not provide services to residents of the United States of America.
Started in June 2020, XM is sponsoring Sistema Cyprus, a charity project aiming at providing less privileged children and youth, such as orphans and refugees, with free music education through participation in symphonic orchestras and choirs. For a year, XM will cover the operational costs of managing this project, including the cost of hiring teachers, buying musical instruments and other relevant expenses.
Part of El Sistema International and Sistema Europe networks, Sistema Cyprus operates in the Hope for Children CRC Policy Centre known as the Home of Hope located in the Faneromeni district of Nicosia. It also operates in the Faneromeni district of Larnaca. So far, more than 100 children and youth have been provided with free instruments and lessons and have participated in joint concerts with El Sistema programs of other countries, the Cyprus Youth Symphonic Orchestra (CYSO) and other musical groups.
El Sistema International’s secondary aim, adopted by all branches of the El Sistema network including Sistema Cyprus, is to promote the recognition of vulnerable population groups around the world by sending a ‘loud musical’ message calling for the acceptance, integration and respect of refugees and less fortunate minorities in today’s societies.
This is the first time that XM is sponsoring this annual event and because we are touched by its noble cause and message, we will remain committed in continuing our sponsorship and wholehearted support for the next upcoming years.
