The Times

- Carpetright owes nearly 8 million pounds ($10.5 million) to about 21,000 customers for outstanding orders at the flooring chain, which fell into administration in July, and most of them will not be refunded.

- Harland & Wolff HARL.L said it will wind down its non-core businesses and lay off some of its employees as the British shipbuilder struggles to stay in business amid financial woes.

- Former chief executive of NatWest NWG.L Alison Rose has taken a job as an adviser to Mishcon de Reya, one of the UK's top law firms, as she tries to return to the City after a career-damaging row with Nigel Farage last year.

- Sales of some new hybrid cars will be allowed until 2035, the UK government has said, but it denied that this was a change to a manifesto pledge to ban petrol and diesel cars from 2030.

Sky News

- THG THG.L, the London-listed e-commerce group behind beauty brands such as Lookfantastic, will this week signal to investors that it is exploring plans to spin off Ingenuity, its technology services arm.

- UK's former Treasury official Charles Roxburgh is leading the race to become the next chairman of Lloyd's of London, one of the City's most prestigious posts.
