Center-right Nunes to face leftist Boulos in Sao Paulo mayoral runoff
SAO PAULO, Oct 6 (Reuters) -The race for mayor of Sao Paulo will be decided in a runoff between center-right incumbent Ricardo Nunes and leftist challenger Guilherme Boulos after Sunday's inconclusive first-round vote, pollster Datafolha projected.
Nunes and Boulos gained nearly 29% of the votes each, with far-right digital influencer Pablo Marcal coming in a close third place. The runoff in Latin America's biggest city will take place on Oct. 27.
In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's second-largest town, centrist Mayor Eduardo Paes was re-elected in a landslide. He secured 60% of the votes against right-wing challenger Alexandre Ramagem's 31%, according to results released by election officials.
