Updates with additional detail

LIMA, Aug 28 (Reuters) -Ecuadorian infrastructure firm Construccion y Administracion (CASA) has won a contract to overhaul Peru's Andean train, with a $565 million investment from the company expected, state investment agency Provinversion said on Wednesday.

The contract also includes a 30-year concession to operate and maintain the 129-kilometer train line connecting the cities of Huancayo and Huancavelica, Proinversion said in a statement.

CASA will renovate seven train stations and build a new maintenance center as part of the deal.

The majority of the investment, some $445 million, will go to the overhaul, with $120 million in operation and maintenance costs for the first 10 years.

CASA's Concesionaria Ferroviaria del Centro unit, jointly run with firm Hidalgo e Hidalgo, will contract Argentine rail operator Benito Roggio Transporte to operate the line.

The revamp of the nearly century-old Andean train will benefit the area's 1.2 million residents, Proinversion said, by boosting the tourism and agriculture sectors.
