ECONOMY

Italy has spent around 45% of the 113.5 billion euros ($123.5 billion) it has secured so far from European Union COVID-19 recovery funds, short of a target set in 2022, the Italian government said on Monday.


DEBT

Italy's Treasury said on Monday it would sell up to 5.75 billion euros in short-term Btp and inflation-linked Btp bonds at a July 25 auction.

Treasury announces sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative amounts to be auctioned on July 26.


COMPANIES


UNICREDIT CRDI.MI

The lender is reorganising its finance division and cutting staff numbers, an internal memo showed on Monday, after CEO Andrea Orcel announced headcount reductions at the group's central offices.


ENI ENI.MI

(*) The energy group said on Tuesday it signed an exclusivity agreement with investment firm KKR KKR.N over the potential sale of a minority stake in biofuel unit Enilive that could value the subsidiary up to 12.5 billion euros.

(*) Oslo-listed Vaar Energi VAR.OL, majority-owned by Eni, on Tuesday posted a second-quarter operating profit below expectations and maintained its dividend payment level.

The President of the Republic of Angola João Gonçalves Lourenço and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met in the country's capital Luanda on Monday to review activities and discuss new areas of cooperation, the energy company said.


BPER BANCA EMII.MI

Italy's market watchdog Consob said in a regulatory filing on Monday that JP Morgan held a potential stake of 5.06% in BPER as of July 10, of which 3.613% in shares, and the rest in financial instruments.

Barclays on Tuesday raised the shares to 'Overweight' from 'Equal-weight' and raised the target price to 48.60 euros from 39.30 euros.


(*) CAR SECTOR

Renault RENA.PA wants to invest in Free to X, Autostrade per l'Italia's company for EV charging stations, "but if the door is closed" because the government won't give its green light to the deal, the French group will invest in Spain or elsewhere, Renault CEO Luca de Meo told Corriere della Sera in an interview published on Tuesday.
