KeyBanc says sleep apnea device makers to benefit from new Apple Watch feature
** Brokerage KeyBanc Capital Markets says it views the news of Apple AAPL.O launching sleep apnea detection in its new Watch Series 10, and existing Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 as positive for medical device makers Resmed RMD.N and Inspire Medical Systems INSP.N
** Both RMD and INSP make devices to treat sleep apnea
** It supports an emerging catalyst driving increased awareness and diagnoses of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) via consumer wearable tech - KeyBanc
** Recently, RMD highlighted consumer wearable tech as a "megatrend" that could support increased market growth, and identified Apple Watch, Google Fitbit, Aura Ring, Whoop, and Garmin as platforms that could adopt capabilities to identify OSA warning signs - brokerage
** "AAPL estimated ~80% of people (in line with RMD estimates) with sleep apnea remain undiagnosed and are unaware that they have it" - KeyBanc
** Brokerage says it found an online survey that indicates ~70% of users sleep with their watches on
