* SCHRODERS: UK fund manager Schroders SDR.L said it had appointed a new finance chief and elevated its group investment chief to its board, the latest appointments as it seeks to reboot its performance.

* MITCHELLS & BUTLERS: UK's Mitchells & Butlers MAB.L reported a lower like-for-like sales growth rate in the fourth quarter, compared with the previous three quarters, partly hurt by an unseasonably wet summer period and disruptions caused by riots in August.

* MORRISONS: British supermarket group Morrisons said it had signed a lease agreement involving 76 properties.

* JAGUAR LAND ROVER: British recycling firm Altilium and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will build and test battery cells made using recycled materials from old Jaguar i-Pace electric vehicles in a pilot project.

* THAMES WATER: S&P and Moody's slashed the credit rating of Thames Water with both firms warning that it was fast running out of money and on the brink of default.

* CAR PRODUCTION: British car productions fell for the sixth consecutive month in August, affected by summer shutdowns and factories prepping to switch to newer models, industry data showed.

* OIL: Oil prices were little changed on Thursday.

* GOLD: Gold edged up to hover near record highs.

* EX-DIVS: Barratt BDEV.L and Rightmove RMV.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs on Thursday.
