US Cash Grains-Soybean basis bids down, corn mixed as harvest begins
CHICAGO, Sept 11 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for soybeans were down and corn bids were mixed on Wednesday as the American corn harvest ramps up and the soybean harvest approaches.
* The soy basis decreased at an elevator and river terminal.
* The corn basis decreased at an Ohio elevator, Nebraska processor, an Illinois river terminal and an Iowa ethanol plant. The basis increased at an Iowa river terminal and an Illinois ethanol plant.
* Dealers are positioning ahead of Thursday's U.S. Department of Agriculture supply and demand report.
* Expectations of bumper corn and soy yields have weighed on prices, though the USDA will report on Thursday whether a dry end to the summer has dented potential soy yields.
* CBOT December corn CZ24 was down 3/4 cent at $4.03-1/2 per bushel as of 1500 GMT and November soybeans SX24 were up 3-1/2 cents at $10 per bushel.
