Forward rates fall as water reserves rise
Oct 31 (Reuters) -Nordic forward power prices fell on Thursday as water reserves continued to rise in the hydropower-reliant region, while weakness in the related markets also weighed on prices.
* Nordic front-quarter baseload power contract ENOFBLQc1 fell 1.4 euros or 2.6% to 53.25 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) as of 1030 GMT.
* Nordic front-year ENOFBLYc1 lost 0.7 euro or 1.8% to 38 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
* Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead PCAEC00 were seen at 14.24 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal, compared with 13.37 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal on Wednesday.
* "We lifted the surplus to almost 10 terawatt hours in the hydrological surplus, so this is very, very bearish on the front-end contracts," said Axel Weyler, an originator at Entelios Trading AB.
* Dutch and British wholesale gas prices slipped as temperatures remained above normal for the time of year and supply stayed stable. NG/EU
* In the European carbon market CFI2Zc1, the benchmark contract edged down 0.34 euro to 65.13 euros a metric ton.
* The weather is "partially overcast or foggy through the first half of November, but could be slowly more active later," Georg Muller, a meteorologist at LSEG, said in a note.
* The Nordic power price for next-day physical delivery FXSYSAL=NPX, or system price, rose 2.94 euros or 30.5% to 12.59 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
