DEBT

An Italian 30-year syndicated bond launched on Tuesday attracted record demand, as the country's high debt yields remain attractive ahead of an anticipated interest rate cut from the European Central Bank.


Treasury sells 12-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.


COMPANIES

The Italian lender on Wednesday said it had bought a 9% stake in Germany's Commerzbank CBKG.DE. Almost half of the shareholding was bought through an accelerated book building launched by the German government, while the remaining shares were bought on the market, the bank said in a statement.

According to German Finance Agency, UniCredit paid 13.20 euros per share for the roughly 53.1 million shares bought through the book building, generating proceeds of 702 million for Germany.


ENI ENI.MI

The Italian energy group said on Tuesday it was pressing ahead with plans to build Italy's third biorefinery in the city of Livorno as national authorities have granted a key green light after assessing the impact on the environment.


TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI

The former Italian phone monopoly has put forward a non-binding bid for the remaining operations of BT in Italy, seeking to get about 100 million euros ($110 million) from the seller in order to take on the assets, two sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

Camfin does not plan to change its nearly 30% stake in the premium tyre maker, the head of the Italian holding company Marco Tronchetti Provera said in an interview with daily Corriere della Sera on Wednesday.
