** Huntington Beach, California-based firm late Thurs posted Q3 adj loss/sh of 13 cents while analysts expected earnings of 2 cents/sh, per LSEG
** Q3 rev rose 2% y/y to ~$326 mln, in line with consensus of $325 mln
** Interim CEO Brad Richmond said co did not fully leverage strong traffic growth due to higher than anticipated restaurant costs
** Restaurant level operating margin in qtr was 11.7%, down from 11.9% in yr-ago period
** Richmond said as demand continues for its offerings such as the Pizookie Meal Deal, co expects to demonstrate "favorable profit momentum" in Q4
** In late Aug, Richmond was named interim CEO when Gregory Levin stepped down after about three years in the role
** Avg rating among 10 analysts covering BJRI is "hold" and median PT is $41 - LSEG
** With move on the session, shares down ~7% YTD, despite ~14% gain over the past three months
