Italy's 5-Star Movement will sever ties with its founder, comedian Beppe Grillo, due to his "acts of sabotage", party leader and former premier Giuseppe Conte said in book excerpts published on Thursday


ECONOMY

ISTAT releases October consumer and business confidence data (0800 GMT).

ECB releases September data on Italian banks domestic government bond holdings.


DEBT

Treasury sells up to 5 billion euros over three bonds. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

Treasury announces sale of BTP and CCTeu bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Oct. 30.


COMPANIES

BANKS

Banca Progetto, a small Italian bank which investment firm Oaktree recently agreed to sell to Centerbridge, has been placed under court administration for allegedly lending money to a person arrested under mafia charges, a court document showed.


ENI ENI.MI

(*) The energy group said on Friday it would increase its share buyback programme to 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) after reporting better than expected third-quarter results.

Adjusted net profit came in at 1.27 billion euros between July and September, beating an analysts' consensus of 1.08 billion euros compiled by the company, but falling from the 1.82 billion euros recorded in the third-quarter last year.

Conference call at 1400 CET (1200 GMT).

The energy group said on Thursday it would invest 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) in five years to decarbonise and relaunch its loss-making chemicals business Versalis.

ENI also said it had approved the distribution of a second tranche of its 2024 dividend of 25 euro cents per share.

The two groups said on Friday they set out an agreement for the industrial development for lithium-iron-phosphate electrochemical batteries for storage applications and industrial and commercial electric mobility. The companies will explore the possibility of setting up a joint venture, they added.

PRYSMIAN PRY.MI

The cable maker's chief executive Massimo Battaini said on Thursday it has a backlog in its energy transmission business equal to 4-5 years of revenues.

Its U.S. unit Lane won a $190 million road contract in Florida, the group said on Friday.


ITALGAS IG.MI

The chief executive of Italy's largest gas distributor said on Thursday its 2024 capital expenditure would probably be slightly below 900 million euros.

Italy's banking foundations are interested in the stake sale of the postal services group, but the share they are capable of buying is not big enough, la Repubblica and La Stampa both reported on Friday. Given the government's position against foreign investors entering Poste's shareholding, La Stampa added that the Treasury could turn to a greater number of banking foundations and open the sale up to institutional investors. The report also says that, given these issues, the sale is more likely to take place next year.


BANCO BPM BAMI.MI

The Italian lender said on Thursday that ratings agency S&P Global had upgraded its rating by one notch to BBB/A-2.


UNIEURO UNIR.MI

(*) France's Fnac Darty FNAC.PA said on Thursday it had received authorisation from the European Commission to officially notify its acquisition project for Unieuro. It added that the shares tendered, added to its existing stake, represent 41% of Unieuro's share capital.

The voluntary public tender and exchange offer on Unieuro ordinary shares by Fnac Darty and RUBY Equity Investment Sarl ends at 1730 CET (1530 GMT).
